Purpose of the catalogue
The ROUON Public Domain Literature Library is a curated index of public-domain works, designed to help readers discover travel narratives and geographical accounts that have historical and literary value. The catalogue does not host texts but provides structured metadata and editorial notes to aid selection. Its purpose is educational and referential, not commercial or promotional.
Scope and selection
The library currently includes 92 books, all sourced from Project Gutenberg. Selection favours works that offer substantive firsthand accounts of travel, exploration, or geographical observation. Preference is given to complete texts or substantial excerpts. No works outside this scope are included. The collection is not exhaustive; it represents a personal curation by the editor based on availability and interest.
Source attribution
Every book record identifies the publisher (Project Gutenberg) and, where applicable, editors, translators, or illustrators. Original publication dates are not systematically included but may appear in the catalogue note. The library does not verify the copyright status of texts beyond their presence in Project Gutenberg; users should independently confirm public-domain status for their jurisdiction.
Bibliographic records
Each record contains the title, author(s) with birth and death years, keywords, target-reader description, and a catalogue note. Keywords are drawn from Project Gutenberg metadata and may not be exhaustive.
